Hussein Saad, M.D.

Hussein Ali Saad, M.D.,has been affiliated with Spine Sports & Occupational Medicine since 2015. Dr. Saad has comprehensive knowledge and experience in orthopaedics and sports medicine. He is currently affiliated with Beaumont Hospital–Dearborn and Beaumont Hospital–Taylor and is certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the State Medical Board of Michigan.

Dr. Saad earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with High Distinction from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, in 2007. During that time, he served his 4th Year Clerkship, an honors position, in Orthopaedic Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with High Distinction from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Dearborn, Michigan in 2003.

Following graduation, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.  After his residency, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Saad is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and currently serves on Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center’s Patient Experience Council in Dearborn, Michigan. He has received numerous awards for his work including the Innovator Award from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Best Basic Science Research Presentation-Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, also from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

In addition, Dr. Saad has provided medical coverage as a team physician or assistant team physician for a number of local, collegiate and professional sports teams including Wayne State University Athletics, Dearborn Public School Athletics, Cleveland Fusion, MAC Basketball Tournament, the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Indians, among others.

He has co-authored multiple articles including “IVUS for Cartilage Analysis: A Pilot Study” for the Cleveland Clinic Department of Orthopaedics Research Day and “In Vivo Biocompatibility of a Synthetic Resorbable Polymer Nanocomposite Bone Graft Substitute” for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.
